Today we go to Block Island

  TODAY WE GO TO BLOCK ISLAND  July 13, 2026 7:00 o'clock : the beginning of our journey to Block Island.  The Sheperds, who we were concern about them getting up early are ahead of us... thanks to Scott the waker upper 😆. Here's a screen shot of their first interaction:  Those two, I don't know how they are still friends  😆  Mom and Dad are excited. Puggy doesn't care  "Grand booat, Grand booat take us to Block Island" 🎶 🎵  From Mystic we head south across Fishers Island Sound then east and to Watch Hill pass to Block Island sound. Except for some chop from the incoming tide at Watch Hill pass we have a good ride. Pretty sights Furthermore on the yellow brick road. Do you see what I see? We started to see our destination at 7:49.  Smooth seas, clear views.  Life is good. 8:20: we're pretty much there.  Surprisingly Tim is quite behind.  Well his new boat is heavier than ours.  We're waiting for them and enter the Grea...

Exciting first day of a two weeks vacation

EXCITING FIRST DAY OF A TWO WEEKS VACATION  July 12, 2026 We're leaving Deep River at 6, following our plan.  We love morning rides. Captain is excited  The puggy not so much.  He turned his back on daddy when putting his life jacket on 😆  Me, I'm groggy but happy. Smooth  Look at him now, enjoying the warmth of the sun and the fresh air. Following the yellow brick road We think there's a submarine  What do you think? We arrive at the mouth of Mystic River at 7:50 Feeling good. Our neighbor across the dock was a beautiful Ranger tug named LIBERTY.  Off course chatted with them.  The captain is Brian Duperre.  He is a musician, his band is FIRETOWN ROAD.  His parents are from New Brunswick.  I am happy to have a French conversation with him. Karaoke at Harp and  Hound.  Tim sings 'Thorn in my pride". Tim signs up for a duet with his sister without her consent. She was shy but she did good. The whole crowd sang BOHEMIA...

Back to reality

  BACK TO REALITY  From Pilots Point to Deep River June 29th, 2026 The plan was leaving at 5:30 and I go to work for 7:30.  Well it's foggy.  I offer my boss to take an Uber he says not necessary, take your time and be safe.   We're up since 4 at 4:44 and we don't expect clear view before 10 so we walk Immer and admire the beautiful Pilots Point Marina.  We walk to Edd's place for a delicious breakfast sandwich.  With a view We leave our slip at 10:10 I cannot help to take a picture of that osprey. I bet that the owner of this house don't like Canadian.... geese 😆  Another good ride. At 10:28 we star to view the Connecticut River lighthouse.  She's dressed up for the 4th of July, the 250th anniversary. We return from the sea, makes us wonder why we return from the sea 🎶 🎵  Let's go to work

Good ride from Branford to Westbrook

GOOD.RIDE FROM BRANFORD TO WESTBROOK June 2026  Heather and Chris. Heather Lynn  Tim Bye Tim! Safe travels! He's going west, us east. Good ride  Not much wind. This sailboat has a sail up but it's quite loose, not moving much. At 12:10, Captain slows down.  Me : Where are we? Scott : Duck Island, do you see it over there? No At 12:30 ok now I see. We spend the afternoon there.  We go in, the water is about 65°F. Those sail boats find some wind somehow. We saw some crazy jet skiers, we heard a siren, thought the police were coming for them, nope they were coming rescuing a boat on fire.  I thought we were getting hit by a airplane in some point. Another than that we had a peaceful time. We have pizza for dinner.  We walk to the beach and just like that our vacation is over.
