Another day in Block Island

  ANOTHER DAY IN BLOCK ISLAND July 21, 2026 Scott walk 35 minutes to the laundry machines at an employee housing, next to Wether Bees, with a laundry bag. They have new machines this year so it takes least time than last year. It feels good to have freshly laundered linens. For the  laundry junkies out there check out the song  Freshly Laundered linens by Boom Forest on your streaming service. It's a great song! I make us a blueberry and peanut butter sandwich , declutter the boat and fold the laundry. It good to see an orderly "home". Scott has a turkey sandwich for lunch, me a aragula and chicken salad. Canned chicken is not the best but the Chardonnay compensate 😆. Then a nap is in order. Scott fell asleep and wake up before me. He goes for a walk at the Block Island Maritime Institute with our baby. At 3:27 everyone hunker down for the predicted rain. We walk to Poor People Pub during a break of the rain. A very early start

  A VERY EARLY START  July 20, 2026 Scott wakes up at 3:15 am, feeds the puggy. Immer says "ugh!? Food in the dark!? Ok. That works for me".  He does his business, back to bed and off we go. And here they are. In queue. The big ones The small ones. They all get in line outside the Great Salt Pond. Scott arrives 2 minutes in advance.  He sits comfortably and wait. And off they go. Our walk there was brisk,  our way back is leisure.  Framed pictures Beautiful Grand Banks Snowy egret There's a rooster there, can you see it? I try to take a video of his cockadoddledoo but I keep on missing it  That's how we look like after an hour and a half walking. Scott's favorite day of the year

  SCOTT'S FAVORITE DAY OF THE YEAR July 19, 2026 Block Island  Scott sees white caps out there... I don't.... Do you? Anyway he worries about the fishing tournament participants that are coming today. We go to the Oar for an early lunch, before the crowd.   I have sushi, Scott blackened chicken sandwich. The puggy is obnoxious. Like Scott likes to say 'When it comes to food he's rude". Well the goal is tiring him down so we can leave him on the boat, quiet while we go to Coast Guard Beach to watch the "parade of big fisher boats coming in. We watch those 2 boys practicing their skills on that board. We had such a good time chatting with Scott and Alison (dock mates from Chester that we met last year) that we forgot to take pictures.  Another visit to the Oar with an obnoxious pug. We end up just getting a mule and have turkey sandwich on the boat. We're tired and wants to get up at 3:30 to watch the departure of the tournament boats.  Goodnight!

Saturday July 18, 2026. Block Island

  SATURDAY JULY 18, 2026 BLOCK ISLAND  Safe travel Tim, Marisa and Mike. Safe travel Chris and Donna ( our Deep River dock mates) Picture from Tim leaving Block Island.  Arriving at the Housatonic River, his home port. It rains a lot from 2 pm. We sleep, we play Uno, we talk about walking to the grocery store when the rain stops for a while then coming back by taxi. After saying several times "There will be a window in 15 minutes", we decide to call a cab. We ride in that window and come back walking.  We get caught in the rain at the marina (and we like Pina colada 🎶 😀)  Turkey sandwiches and raw string beans from our garden for dinner.  They're still fresh and snappy, crunchy.  It rains hard, there's lightning and thunder far behind. We'll sleep well in the drumming sound of the rain. Good night!
