 East Harbour, Fishers Island then Mel in Mystic, 2022

We went for a walk at Mystic Inn, where Mel is gonna stay tonight.

What a beautiful place, especially the location. We are surprised that's only a two stars hotel.  We know Mel likes it, she's been there before.

We looked for a place to pick her up by dinghy.  

We went to Kitchen little by dinghy for breakfast.  We didn't really like it but it fed us, we enjoyed the view, the conversation with the dog lover waitress and Immer got a treat.

Then we went to East Harbour, Fishers Island, which is about 6 miles from Safe Harbor Marina in Mystic.

It was cooler but warm enough to go for a swim.  We would have liked to go to shore and walk to the other side of the island and see the beach and open ocean but it is a private golf club for rich newyorkers.

I read that the area between the Connecticut River and here was a fresh water lake for a time, also Fishers Island belonged to Connecticut and New York state at the same time in some point.  Then the Duke of York took possession of it.  Now the area code is the same than Long Island but the mail comes from Connecticut. 

Back to the marina we had hot dogs for dinner then we went picking up Mel by dinghy.  It was a little tricky to find a spot to land, we did at the cemetery across the street of the Inn. We would have brought Immer but he wanted to go to bed.  

On the boat Mel and I had sangria then we dinghed to town and walked to Friar Tuck's for a drink.

Of course we talked about memories like when we went bar hopping with the dock E gang

I remember the song Wendy and Mel were singing, it was "I will survive" and I can hear it when I see that picture.
