We woke up early, fed Immer and went back to sleep.  Mel came with coffee.


Scott and I had lunch on the boat (quinoa salad), Mel was not hungry, she had a big breakfast. We spent the afternoon on the boat.  Deb and Bob came on Sans Soucis, their slip is across us on A, we are at B 6.  They had a nice ride, we thought it would be choppy because it was windy at the marina. They appreciate their fairly new to them boat, a 33 f. Sundancer, 10.6 f. wide Sans Soucis.


Horror boat stories are flowing with always the same ending "we had such a good time on that trip".  


Mel, Scott and I went to R 36 by dinghy for dinner.  Scott had a flat bread chicken with ARAGULA! wait what?!! Scott is eating aragula!!! Wow just wow!  Mel enjoyed a fried chicken sandwich and me a R 36 salad with 3 scallops.



Mel had an expresso martini, it looks so good, I have to try that some day.

Bob and Deb joined us at R 36 and we dinghed back to Safe Harbor.   


We played set back on Sans Soucis,  listening to Van Morrison, such a nice evening.  Bob and I won.

Mel taught me how to make video on Tik Tok.


Life is good.

Side by side with SeaTow

  Captain Ben of Sea Tow Eastern Connecticut comes to the rescue at 9:16. Side by side, that's how they get boats out of a slip.  It makes sense but I never realized that. It's gonna be a long ride back. Well it's actually pretty relaxing. The sound is so calm. We cannot help to recall our 2 friends John and Toolman who were towed from Sag Harbor in rough seas.  So rough that the line snapped. John had to hook another one.  He couldn't walk on the bow so he went through the top hatch.  How scary!  Our adventure is way more mellow.  We are listening to our favorite music, Stephen Kellog and enjoying the view. So nice! So pretty! Even  New London is calm, New London is always choppy. We can see Long Island. Captain Ben is letting us go now In Hatchett Reef Captain Tom of Sea Tow Central Connecticut is taking us over. Day 7

DAY 7 ON THE ISLAND,   July 20, 2024 Block Island  Scott wakes up a 3:30.  When he sees me moving he proposes a walk to Rodman Hollow which was our plan yesterday.   I said "I need a shower".  Scott:"yeah!".Good thing we did because soon after they shutt off the water for some digging.  After his too short night Scott gives up on the hike and goes back to sleep (night workers understand that).  I go to the Farmer's Market and get blueberries, lettuce and cucumbers. When Scott wakes up he goes and gets coffee. Then I make a sandwich for me and a wrap for Scott and we go to Coast Guard Beach. We stay there 6h.   Boats are coming in all day long. Scott finishes reading his book so I can read it. We walk pass the channel and look west at the open ocean in the direction of Montauk.
