 Stirling marina, Greenport, NY, 2022

Morning was nice, overcast but nice enough for me to go swimming.

When Captain Scott decided to leave for Greenport, Grand Boat refused to do so.  Seatow came to the rescue.

Kim and I found him to be a good looking guy.

Diagnosis:  there's something wrong with the new batteries that Scott changed 3 weeks ago.  Got a jump-start,  the Seatow guy said not to shut it off before you're at your destination.  Well the throwable floatation device got stuck in the shuttle off key and shut the engine in the middle of Gardiner's Bay.  I won't report what Scott said then.  But Grand Boat started right up whew.

We took the last shuttle (5 o'clock) to town, has dinner at Claudio's and a few drinks at Crabby Jerry's.   We walked back (20 minutes).

The following morning we woke up around 5 and went straight to the motion of leaving for Deep River, I was working at 10.

We had a smooth ride, Plum Gut was so flat I could go down below and get my phone, a first.

Look it's so flat I can leave the wheel.

Monday morning rides are the best.

Surprisingly the visibility was good in  the Sound but foggy on the Connecticut River,  we couldn't see the lighthouses from bell 8.

Back to Deep River the mission was getting the batteries changed.  The fact is there was a hole in the last cell of one of the two. Mission accomplished.
