Gorgeous day in Napatree


Our puggy was hungry at 6, you cannot take a vacation from that 😀 

Wé love mornings in Napatree.

That's alright, he keeps us going and moving.

Here's another shot of that tree hole. 

Breakfast was vegan eggs with string beans, cheddar and bacon.  We almost had a vegan meal 😆. No kidding Justegg is great for the boat.

We went for a walk toward the sea from inside the bay for the first time.  We saw a salt pond there.  We are still discovering places.

We're so enjoying this beautiful day.

The day boaters arrived in mass.

Look on the right there's boats as far as you can see.

Look on the left... same thing.

And then off course a lot of people on the other side of the dune.  

A little swim and a little rest then back on the boat with our boy.  Dogs are not allowed on the beach between 8 and 6.



Day boaters are gone.

Only the nighters can enjoy this.


We are quite in great numbers.

Side by side with SeaTow

  Captain Ben of Sea Tow Eastern Connecticut comes to the rescue at 9:16. Side by side, that's how they get boats out of a slip.  It makes sense but I never realized that. It's gonna be a long ride back. Well it's actually pretty relaxing. The sound is so calm. We cannot help to recall our 2 friends John and Toolman who were towed from Sag Harbor in rough seas.  So rough that the line snapped. John had to hook another one.  He couldn't walk on the bow so he went through the top hatch.  How scary!  Our adventure is way more mellow.  We are listening to our favorite music, Stephen Kellog and enjoying the view. So nice! So pretty! Even  New London is calm, New London is always choppy. We can see Long Island. Captain Ben is letting us go now In Hatchett Reef Captain Tom of Sea Tow Central Connecticut is taking us over. Day 7

DAY 7 ON THE ISLAND,   July 20, 2024 Block Island  Scott wakes up a 3:30.  When he sees me moving he proposes a walk to Rodman Hollow which was our plan yesterday.   I said "I need a shower".  Scott:"yeah!".Good thing we did because soon after they shutt off the water for some digging.  After his too short night Scott gives up on the hike and goes back to sleep (night workers understand that).  I go to the Farmer's Market and get blueberries, lettuce and cucumbers. When Scott wakes up he goes and gets coffee. Then I make a sandwich for me and a wrap for Scott and we go to Coast Guard Beach. We stay there 6h.   Boats are coming in all day long. Scott finishes reading his book so I can read it. We walk pass the channel and look west at the open ocean in the direction of Montauk. We're thinking of going soon, it's not very far.  We can't see it though.   Seeing the seaweed I recall learning during the nature walk that they are a hiding place for many se
