Day 2 on Block Island, July 1st, 2022

Day 2 on Block Island, July 1st, 2022

We woke up early and Scott went to dinghy Beach then crossed corn neck road to Scotch Beach, he walked to Old Harbor.   I was still sore from building the sand castle and stayed in bed.

We had cereal with blueberries for breakfast then we went on Coast Guard beach by dinghy.  It was quite windy.  We were there at 9 o'clock,  there was a steady traffic of boats coming in and out.

After a while they were only coming in.  It will be packed tonight.

It got warm enough to go swimming, the water was cold, about 66°F. we are guessing. Scott dove right in as usual.  It took me 10 minutes then I was comfortable and swam for a while.

It was windy and the wind  got stronger throughout the day,  15 to 20 knots.  We got splashed a little bit on our way back in the dinghy.  We stayed put for the rest of the day.

Back on the boat we watch people, boats, dinghies, dogs and birds. Here's an egret.

We walked for a drink at Champlin's, on our way we were looking for floating glass, that's a scavenger hunt here on the island.  We didn't find any but we smelled the roses.

I know Ramen noodles don't have a good reputation but they are very convenient on the boat.  I added fennel, chives, cauliflower rice (from a pouch) and peanut to one package of noodles and that was actually pretty good and enough for both of us.

Another day in paradise.  Paradise is not a place it's a vacation.
