We left Mystic around 10, we had a good ride. Bob anchored and we are tied to him.  We like our spot near to shore and town. It was quite windy, the wind was coming from southwest. 

We like our spot, 80 f. off the jetty and 50 f. off shore.

We walked to town and the beach on the other side of town. 

We saw the house of Taylor swift.


 

We shopped, Mel bought a pair of sunglasses.  Scott found a pair he likes at 300$... he didn't get them.  I found a light sweater I like for 180$... I didn't get it either.  Mel got caramel swirl  coffee at Sift for Scott and herself, I took a sip, we all agree it was the best coffee we ever had.

We shared a pasta dish on the boat from Olympia Tea Room (parpadelle with tomatoe, beef, pork, veal and cream)  It was divine.


It was overcast, humide and windy all day. I believe in God a little stronger when the rays of sun pierce through the clouds like that.


Dogs are allowed on the beach only after 6.

It is cloudy but it's red, we should have a delightful day tomorrow. 


We had a quiet evening.

Side by side with SeaTow

  Captain Ben of Sea Tow Eastern Connecticut comes to the rescue at 9:16. Side by side, that's how they get boats out of a slip.  It makes sense but I never realized that. It's gonna be a long ride back. Well it's actually pretty relaxing. The sound is so calm. We cannot help to recall our 2 friends John and Toolman who were towed from Sag Harbor in rough seas.  So rough that the line snapped. John had to hook another one.  He couldn't walk on the bow so he went through the top hatch.  How scary!  Our adventure is way more mellow.  We are listening to our favorite music, Stephen Kellog and enjoying the view. So nice! So pretty! Even  New London is calm, New London is always choppy. We can see Long Island. Captain Ben is letting us go now In Hatchett Reef Captain Tom of Sea Tow Central Connecticut is taking us over. Day 7

DAY 7 ON THE ISLAND,   July 20, 2024 Block Island  Scott wakes up a 3:30.  When he sees me moving he proposes a walk to Rodman Hollow which was our plan yesterday.   I said "I need a shower".  Scott:"yeah!".Good thing we did because soon after they shutt off the water for some digging.  After his too short night Scott gives up on the hike and goes back to sleep (night workers understand that).  I go to the Farmer's Market and get blueberries, lettuce and cucumbers. When Scott wakes up he goes and gets coffee. Then I make a sandwich for me and a wrap for Scott and we go to Coast Guard Beach. We stay there 6h.   Boats are coming in all day long. Scott finishes reading his book so I can read it. We walk pass the channel and look west at the open ocean in the direction of Montauk. We're thinking of going soon, it's not very far.  We can't see it though.   Seeing the seaweed I recall learning during the nature walk that they are a hiding place for many se
