The ride back from Block Island to Deep River, July 8 2022
We woke up around 3:30 I guess we were afraid to miss the calm sea conditions. There was no wind,it really was the less wind I've seen all week long. We just waited for the sun to rise. I took the first picture at 5:27.
That's funny how a different angle makes such a difference.
Bye bye Block Island, we love you!
We had a beautiful but swelly ride. It looks like we were in the middle of a rainbow halo.
It looks flat on the picture but the the next one is crooked because it was swelly.
After the race it was calmer.
We made it safe home. It's about time we know the proper name of the first lighthouse at the mouth of the Connecticut River, it is Saybrook Breakwater Lighthouse. The visibility was so clear we started to see it from the race maybe before.
The race is 15.7 nautical miles away.
Home sweet home... well our "pied à mer" (home on the water), in Deep River, with our baby.
