PLANS CHANGED


Scott gets up at 4:30, leaves at 5:20 but Uber to get my car in Deep River and leave it at the marina in Shelton where his friend Tim is and where we're going tomorrow for the weekend. He comes back here with another Uber.  He gets friendly with the driver who is a 78 years old man who is member of the Freedom Boat Club. He texts me that he is cool and invites him down.  That makes me jumping out of bed and get dressed.  I needed the motivation. Well he's not coming he got a call.


We're having an early lunch, pizza from Honey spot pizza.  Delicious! Not greasy, real garlic slices yum!

I brought aragula for that purpose.  It's a good combination, it makes us having our greens and Scott likes it yeah! And it doesn't go to waste easily.  I'll remember that.

I texted Scott to bring the vacuum and it was in the car already.   Yeah today is perfect for cleaning and doing laundry. 


Like my assistant Kella would say :"There's something about a man vacuuming" 😀 

Then we go to Stoney Creek Brewery by dighny for a well deserved beer after all that cleaning.

We had kielbasa, sweet potato and carrot for dinner.
Night number 9 on the boat for Scott, number 8 for me.
Life is good.

Side by side with SeaTow

  Captain Ben of Sea Tow Eastern Connecticut comes to the rescue at 9:16. Side by side, that's how they get boats out of a slip.  It makes sense but I never realized that. It's gonna be a long ride back. Well it's actually pretty relaxing. The sound is so calm. We cannot help to recall our 2 friends John and Toolman who were towed from Sag Harbor in rough seas.  So rough that the line snapped. John had to hook another one.  He couldn't walk on the bow so he went through the top hatch.  How scary!  Our adventure is way more mellow.  We are listening to our favorite music, Stephen Kellog and enjoying the view. So nice! So pretty! Even  New London is calm, New London is always choppy. We can see Long Island. Captain Ben is letting us go now In Hatchett Reef Captain Tom of Sea Tow Central Connecticut is taking us over. What a first day of vacation!

  WHAT A FIRST DAY OF VACATION! June 21 2025, Branford  We're leaving Deep River at 6:50. It is a perfect day. Sunny and calm, the way  we love them. Our puggy is with us. He's been without a lap for 15minutes while launching.  He's so happy now. Two laps is better than one though 😀. All is perfect until it's not. Less than an hour later we're almost motionless, drifting a little out and north. The serpentin  belt fell off again. Well we are on vacation therefore relax and that's how we are handling it.  We'll get towed to our destination and  take care of it there.   I'm actually impressed with the coolness of Scott.   Forty five minutes later. Captain Bill comes to the rescue from Old Saybrook, the Central Connecticut SeaTow franchise. It's still a perfect day and a perfect ride. We are cruising to Branford at a Nordic Tug speed (our dream) and hopefully Grand Boat will be fixed for good by Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday. Safe Ha...

Beautiful fall day in Essex

 Beautiful fall day in Essex October 5 & 6, 2024 We're going to the marina next door, should be an easy ride right? Right! First we have to wait for a boat to dock strugglingly. Then we undock strugglingly.  We're doing a good job though.  Then the Connecticut River is crowded, we're passed left and right and go around left and right.  In Essex there's a sailboat race, they are everywhere, tackling. And it's windy. Pictures don't captured that at all. We walked to the Connecticut River museum then we just chilled and go to bed early.  Sunday morning we're up early and go for a good walk. Essex is festive for Halloween.  What a beautiful day! The Black Seal decorations. We decide that we're coming back for lunch. And here we are.  Scott cannot resist the chicken parm.
