BLOCK ISLAND
July 17th, 2025
Our morning walk is to New Harbor Spring House. Where Jim and Mel will stay next week.
Then we go to Payne's.
Then Champlin's and come back by the beach through Tool Man passage, since the tide is low.
Little relaxing time on the boat.
Then back on our feet to have lunch at Ballard's. We didn't quite beat the rain but almost.
It rains during lunch.
Scott enjoys his chicken piccata
And the service was top notch.
Since the rain is still raining we have a drink to let more time to mother nature to quench the earth and we degust a margarita.... delicious.
I go shopping to Star. I would like light cotton shorts but I only find a new bathing suit for Scott but he's not interested.
Actually I found a pair of men boxers I would like to wear as shorts. Can I do that? ... I decide not.
Back to the boat for quality time with the puggy then ice cream at Champlin's.
See the seal.
The plan for the evening is to go star gazing with
The Nature Conservancy at 9.
First we go to Payne's for a new tradition that we started with Mel, an expresso martini.
Then we take a taxi to Hodge preserve.
Nobody's there
but a deer
Hello dear!
It's a little eerie being alone here.
Five minutes later two cars come. We are told that the activity is postponed till tomorrow.
Ann from San Diego with her daughter is offering us a lift and drive us to Poor People pub.
After we order our meal, three couples walk in. One couple is wearing a "I love AOC" shirt. Scott look at them and say "me too". (We love and hate some of her politics but respects her character and accomplishments). When Scott said that the couple grimaced. Then a man jumped in with a smile and said "They lost a bet".
Scott gobbles up half of a hamburger pizza and me half of a chicken wrap. Yeah! We have left over for tomorrow.
We had a full day!
Good night!
