Labor Day weekend with Tim's crew and Jim and Mel
Labor Day weekend with Tim's crew and Jim and Mel
Mystic, 8/30/2025
At 12:20 we are at the 95 bridge. That's late for us. It was too windy this morning.
We're tired.
The wind is subsiding now.
We're still tired but we really want to join Tim's crew, that means that Payton and Marisa are there. He has a longer ride to do from Shelton but he didn't work yesterday.
A new train bridge is getting built.
We're leaving the Connecticut River and plenty are coming. There's so much more traffic than our usual travel time.
Tim is at the marina next door to us, Glenmore Marina. It is a short walk to get there. And it is a pretty one. There's cute small houses on one side and a salt marsh on the other. And that guy seems used to people.
I came not as well organized than usual. When we were settled I was hungry and didn't know what to eat. Tim offered hot dogs. That was nice! Thank you Tim!
We love our slip, it's at the end of E dock. It is so nice to relax and watch the boats go by.
We dingh to town with Tim's crew.
They go for icecream and we head "home"... maybe I should say "bhome" 😆. Our boat is our home every weekend 6 months a year after all... pretty much.
Sunday morning we're in a better shape after a good night sleep.
After feeding the puggy and taking him out, we go to the pool... well I chicken out and go back to the boat and make breakfast.
It looks pretty good, native peach on peanut butter spread multigrain bread.
Someone surely thinks so.
We go for a long dinghy ride with Jim and Mel in the afternoon.
We go to the top of Seaport. It's been a while we came here. We notice a lot of improvement, the floating docks for example.
In the afternoon we go for a boat ride on "IRIE", with Tim's extended crew, Payton's grand parents and great grandmother.
Payton and Gigi are so cute together.
Captain decides to take a break
and gives the command to his daughter.
Captain Tim takes back the control for docking and Payton becomes the first mate. She does a good job.
We all love those sunset that changes every minute.
We walk back bhome, change and walk back to join Tim and Marisa but they are not ready. We see those two deers eating in somebody's garden.
The plan is to eat then karaoke. Well we are late and they have no food so we skip dinner. Scott and I are the first ones to arrive. It is packed already at 8 and it looks like we won't be able to sit with our friends.
Jim and Mel arrive soon after us and Scott notice a group leaving. We rush and sit there, Mel clean the table for the short staff.
And here comes the singer and his sister Marisa.
Jim teaches Mel how to air drum.
Fun time.
Let's dance.
Monday is a quiet day that starts with another peach, peanut butter bread for me. Scott walks visit the Shepherds' while I go back to sleep.
Those sunsets
5:58, a little ahead of schedule we're leaving and the puggy gets a lap at last. He feels so much better. It's cold though.
There's fog on Mystic River.
In the Sound I like to stand up. Immer is not happy about it.
No more fog.
It looks like the Titanic.
At 6:44 I'm surprised to see the lighthouses already. Scott says he's been seeing them for a while.
After some fighting with his bed, the puggy settles down.
Mommy takes care of her baby. It's cold.
6:57 we are on the Connecticut River.
River fog
After a slow ride on the river we are home port at 7:50.
