A full Block Island day

 A FULL BLOCK ISLAND DAY

July 15 2026

We wake up at 5 as usual, take the pugger for a walk at Champlin's. He is not happy about that but he has no choice 😆.

Sun rise is always a treat to the eye.

Then we go to Payne's.  Immer agrees with that because there's food there.
I share my delicious breakfast sandwich with him

There we see a yacht named SKYFALL. I research it and find out that it is 190f. long and it is for sale for 24 millions. It can accommodate 14 guests and 14 crew members. You can charter it for 290,000$ for a week.  We see only one person on it.

Now that the puggy is tired, we're going to Scotch Beach.

On our way to dinghy beach we notice our dock mates Chris and Donna are there. We stop by to say Hello.

On the other side of Corn Neck road the water is refreshing.
Scott is in his glory.
I sheepishly go in one step at a time.
We walk pass the town beach then turn around.

For years and years I've been too shy to do yoga in public.  This year I dare. Scott joins me for some tachi warrior.
A woman walk by and says "I love it!"
Who would have thought, two old people doing amateur yoga is a beautiful sight 😆.

 Wind turbine blades passing by.

Coming back to the boat is adventurous. The Great Salt Pond is furious. We climb aboard the dinghy and get pushed right back on the beach. Scott gets back out, pushes further out, dives in the dink and rushes to start the motor. The dinghy ride feels like we're riding a bull. When we pass by the Four Mac's we yell "HEE HAW'.

We go to the Farmer's Market with Marisa (Tim is still sleeping). I get potatoes, Scott gets Flavor Festival nuts, they are delicious, there's wasabi peas in them.  Marisa gets a mushroom, leek hand pie and a piece of chocolate banana bread.  She enjoys her breakfast.

We're having turkey sandwich with homemade pesto for an early lunch. Swimming made us hungry.

Nap.

Then we go to Coast Guard Beach with Tim.  There's a fisherman fighting something.  It is suspected to be a sting ray.  He fight that thing for probably an hour.  He walks the beach with children following him, one with pliers and another with a net. The fish wins and cuts the line, not surprisingly.  I wish I took a picture of the rod arched down close to the breaking point.

We walk the beach and see a fancy tent set up with SKYFALL on it. We chat with the crew member. He is from South Africa. We learn that there's 8 guests at the moment. They left from Florida and go to Newport next. I cannot get over it, 290,000$ divided in 2 or 3 or not divided at all, for a week.  Who can possibly afford that!  Scott and I are not envious, we are happy with our little Grand Boat 😀.

On our way back we visit the Four Mac's and have a chat with Chris while Donna is working inside.

Tim tells us all about his peripeties yesterday on the paddle board when the Great Salt Pond was out of control. He had to walk in some point.

Next we walk to Poor People Pub for dinner and karaoke. Scott and I enjoy garlic parmesan wings and pizza with prosciutto di Parma and lemony aragula.

Delicious

The one and only Tim sings "Tainted love".
