Nice, cool ride to Napatree

  NICE, COOL RIDE TO NAPATREE 

June 10, 2024

We left Deep River at 6:09. We are going on vacation for a week.  I stayed home all weekend to get ready.  I cooked and cleaned the garden.

I made mini egg muffins,

Macaroni salad and pulled with mashed carrots that I froze.

My flower garden needed a cleaning up really bad.  This rose had to work so hard to bloom.

You're welcome rose.

I can leave at peace.

We love morning rides. Scott took this picture. 

Guess who ate a sponge? Yep we're hoping it will spring out and we won't have to make a trip to a vet by Uber in Watch Hill.

We arrived at Stonington breakwall at 7:43 so it took 1h45.


Oh the adventures you live when you own a puggy! Mister got a little cold and hid his face in my jacket and got stuck.  Did you ever have to unstuck a pug from your pocket while being rocked by high rollers? Yep I had a puggy in my pocket 😆. 

Little Narragansett bay is pretty empty.





It got windy and captain Scott is making sure the anchor is secure and it is. It's holding us good. The picture doesn't show the mightness of the waves but it was choppy on our digny ride back from town.  Scott wanted me to stay in front but I was sliding down and the front was bumping up and down spraying us a little. The wind is from west and blows 15 knots.





Late afternoon we're going to town again, the wind is so strong, it is hard for me to push the dinghy away from the boat. We go for a walk at the lighthouse. A Yale student from India offers us to take a picture as Scott was trying to take a selfie.  He and his friends are very nice and we have a little chat.  They are interested to hear how we came here by boat from Deep River.
Thankfully the wind subsids and our dinghy ride back is smoother.

In the evening some clouds appeared and hid the sun.


We should have a spectacle anyway.  I'm waiting for it, enjoying my lazy mojito that I have been dreaming of for a month.

By the way Immer is doing fine.  We're still waiting for the sponge to come out though 😆... pug life.

FOURTH OF JULY, 2025  Port Jefferson, NY We slept in Shelton last night, leave early this morning and are in the Sound at 8:13. There's a little ripple in the beginning then it got a little uncomfortable but not bad at all. At 8:40 we enter the channel of Conscious Bay.  We tie up to Priority and get to know Sue more (Daisie's mom).  We find in her a great listener to our dog stories and so she does with us.  We decide that we are like family now. ❤️  Dinghy ride on land  for a walk with the boy Our boat is somewhere in the bay. We bring our chairs for the Pootatuck fireworks tonight. Relaxing is in order now, the weather is perfect. Yesterday there was a big storm and that katamaran dragged with the mooring... how scary. Mike and Scott work hard to blow a deck and a pool. How about that! What a set up! Sue and Mike have a lot of friends and a lot of them stopped by for a visit by boat or by dinghy. A blessed day in P.J.!

  A BLESSED DAY IN P.J.! Port Jefferson by ferry August 24, 2025 Today is the big day we have been waiting for all week. We are going  sailing on our friends' boat "Lively up".  Scott is so excited. 7:45 we are at Bridgeport Ferry Terminal, waiting for the ferry to arrive. Here it comes. Here's  the captain backing up the ship. Scott tells me that's where we were supposed to come for the Counting Crows concert.  At 9:11 we starting to see the Port Jeff landmark. The two towers. Here's a higher perspective of Conscience Bay where we were on Fourth of July.  That could be us... so little.... actually we are even littler. "Lively Up" is somewhere in there. That's where we land when we come with the digny from Conscience Bay.  When we arrived at 9:45, John and Debra are at the terminal, waiting for us. We're having brunch at  Joey Z's, it's delicious and the service is excellent. Scott really enjoys his chicken  parm with lemon pepper pot...

What a first day of vacation!

  WHAT A FIRST DAY OF VACATION! June 21 2025, Branford  We're leaving Deep River at 6:50. It is a perfect day. Sunny and calm, the way  we love them. Our puggy is with us. He's been without a lap for 15minutes while launching.  He's so happy now. Two laps is better than one though 😀. All is perfect until it's not. Less than an hour later we're almost motionless, drifting a little out and north. The serpentin  belt fell off again. Well we are on vacation therefore relax and that's how we are handling it.  We'll get towed to our destination and  take care of it there.   I'm actually impressed with the coolness of Scott.   Forty five minutes later. Captain Bill comes to the rescue from Old Saybrook, the Central Connecticut SeaTow franchise. It's still a perfect day and a perfect ride. We are cruising to Branford at a Nordic Tug speed (our dream) and hopefully Grand Boat will be fixed for good by Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday. Safe Ha...
