From Westbrook to Block Island
From Westbrook to Block Island

But captain Scott says we have to wait a little that the fog lift up. Waiting doesn't mean you do nothing. It means that you have time to wipe dry the bimini that got wet last night, before rolling each piece tight and store them down below.
At 7 am we're leaving our 2 finger slip.
It was nice to not have to climb over the seat to put the dinghy in place. We just switch finger.
Bye-bye Pilot Point
7:37
It is nice and calm.

The Race
It is white cappy.
You cannot see on the picture but it is a little scary.
It is not that bad though because captain Scott slows down.
We get tossed like if we were riding a bull, not too bad though. My stomach is ok.
Then it gets foggy.
And foggier
We hear on the radio somebody calling "Rhodes Island pilot something New York coming". We hear it over and over and over. In some point the voice is a little bit panicking. We're wondering "Is he trying to hail us?"... no he's not. Somebody ends up answering.
Here comes the sun.
Then the fog again.
We hear loud "bangs" in a distance. Scott thinks it's gun shots, it sounds like thunder to me. Well we learn from the radio that there is live gunnery exercises.
There's a 2F swell coming from southeast, making it hard to stay on course (due East). Scott is using the GPS and the compass.
We see the ghost fishing boat of Block Island but it doesn't appear on the picture.
Scott got a bed for the puggy. It was a little hard to convince him to use it.
10:07
We start to see the Island.
11:17
We are slipped in.
Look at those cumulonimbus.
After a couple of naps, we ding to Champlin's for icecream.
Black berry for me.
It's good ice-cream.
