The day Bob's Iphone went in the water for 5 hours.

Image
The day Bob's phone went in the water for 5 hours We went for a walk on the beach at dog's time... before 8.  We saw a dog eating a fish carcass, the next couple called him "shameless".  Another one took Immer for a family members,  Otis or Mathilda. Bob offered bagel for breakfast that he toasted on his grill.  Scott took the offer, I asked for toasting my bread and had peanut butter and apple with it. Around 8, Bob dropped his IPhone 13 in the water. Mel, Scott and I went to town, we forgot to bring the garbage and buy ice. Debby and I went swimming and we relaxed and enjoyed this beautiful day, no humidity, warm and breezy, just prefect. We had left over pasta for lunch Mel had a turkey sandwich.   We went to town again, we brought Immer this time.  A lady from Minnesota came to talk to us and asked to take a picture of Immer. We forgot the garbage again but we got ice. When we came back Jack and Christy were tied to Bob.  They hanged out with us for a while.  Bob

Napatree, RI, 2022

Image
Napatree, RI We left Mystic around 10, we had a good ride. Bob anchored and we are tied to him.  We like our spot near to shore and town. It was quite windy, the wind was coming from southwest.  We like our spot, 80 f. off the jetty and 50 f. off shore. We walked to town and the beach on the other side of town.  We saw the house of Taylor swift.   We shopped, Mel bought a pair of sunglasses.  Scott found a pair he likes at 300$... he didn't get them.  I found a light sweater I like for 180$... I didn't get it either.  Mel got caramel swirl  coffee at Sift for Scott and herself, I took a sip, we all agree it was the best coffee we ever had. We shared a pasta dish on the boat from Olympia Tea Room (parpadelle with tomatoe, beef, pork, veal and cream)  It was divine. It was overcast, humide and windy all day. I believe in God a little stronger when the rays of sun pierce through the clouds like that. Dogs are allowed on the beach only after 6. It is cloudy but it's red, we sh

Mystic with Mel, Deb and Bob!

Mystic with Mel, Deb and Bob We woke up early, fed Immer and went back to sleep.  Mel came with coffee. Scott and I had lunch on the boat (quinoa salad), Mel was not hungry, she had a big breakfast. We spent the afternoon on the boat.  Deb and Bob came on Sans Soucis, their slip is across us on A, we are at B 6.  They had a nice ride, we thought it would be choppy because it was windy at the marina. They appreciate their fairly new to them boat, a 33 f. Sundancer, 10.6 f. wide Sans Soucis. Horror boat stories are flowing with always the same  ending "we had such a good time on that trip".   Mel, Scott and I went to R 36 by dinghy for dinner.  Scott had a flat bread chicken with ARAGULA!  wait what?!! Scott is eating aragula!!! Wow just wow!  Mel enjoyed a fried chicken sandwich and me a R 36 salad with 3 scallops. Mel had an expresso martini, it looks so good, I have to try that some day. Bob and Deb joined us at R 36 and we dinghed back to Safe Harbor.    We played set back

East Harbour, Fishers Island then Mel in Mystic

East Harbour, Fishers Island then Mel in Mystic, 2022 We went for a walk at Mystic Inn, where Mel is gonna stay tonight. What a beautiful place, especially the location. We are surprised that's only a two stars hotel.  We know Mel likes it, she's been there before. We looked for a place to pick her up by dinghy.   We went to Kitchen little by dinghy for breakfast.  We didn't really like it but it fed us, we enjoyed the view, the conversation with the dog lover waitress and Immer got a treat. Then we went to East Harbour, Fishers Island, which is about 6 miles from Safe Harbor Marina in Mystic. It was cooler but warm enough to go for a swim.  We would have liked to go to shore and walk to the other side of the island and see the beach and open ocean but it is a private golf club for rich newyorkers. I read that the area between the Connecticut River and here was a fresh water lake for a time, also Fishers Island belonged to Connecticut and New York state at the same time in

Mystic, July 2022

Mystic, July 2022 Mystic here we come.  Nice ride So much so I could stay comfortably sit down with my puggy on my lap  We made it in a good time, probably around 1 hour and 40 minutes. Noank There's always a big boat there. There's always interesting clouds around here. Immer got a good brush... omg the hair that came out of that little body.  Scott had a nightmare about the boat sinking because of the huge amount of it.  Hair clogging the bilge.  Lunch was pizza for Scott and couscous salad for me.  Then a dinghy ride downtown was in order.  Like Styx says "reflexion on the water sparks my memory" all happy, none sad, such as when Immer was a puppy and got a lot of attention. That was eight years ago   Nice nautical rope art on the bascule bridge.  A lady offered to take a picture of me.  Last time we came, it was during the beginning of the pandemic.  It was pretty sad and ghostly. We were afraid of one another and stayed away from one another. I missed the sunset

Stirling marina, Greenport, NY, July 2022

Stirling marina, Greenport, NY, 2022 Morning was nice, overcast but nice enough for me to go swimming. When Captain Scott decided to leave for Greenport, Grand Boat refused to do so.  Seatow came to the rescue. Kim and I found him to be a good looking guy. Diagnosis:  there's something wrong with the new batteries that Scott changed 3 weeks ago.  Got a jump-start,  the Seatow guy said not to shut it off before you're at your destination.  Well the throwable floatation device got stuck in the shuttle off key and shut the engine in the middle of Gardiner's Bay.  I won't report what Scott said then.  But Grand Boat started right up whew.  We took the last shuttle (5 o'clock) to town, has dinner at Claudio's and a few drinks at Crabby Jerry's.   We walked back (20 minutes). The following morning we woke up around 5 and went straight to the motion of leaving for Deep River, I was working at 10. We had a smooth ride, Plum Gut was so flat I could go down below and
